ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY

Candidate Age: 12 to 14 Years
Duration of the Course: 04 Years ( Every Sunday )
Selection Process: An Entrance examination followed by the Physical test and interview will make Selection.
Training Timing: 08 : 00 Hrs to 13: 00 Hrs , After Selection the cadets will be enrolled in the Academy for the current Batch.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES

TRAINING SYLLABUS

Training syllabus for the cadets as approved by the Council is placed these orders. In addition a varied selection of additional activities, which have a definite bearing on the development of character and leadership, have been added to the training syllabus. It shall be the endeavor of the Units to aim at the highest possible standard of Training. The Training shall be practical as far as possible and where classroom Instructions are necessary, these shall be conducted in a most active and interesting way possible. Every Cadet must achieve the highest standard of efficiency in squad and Rifle Drill.

CHARACTER TRAINING

While the Ocean Cadet Academy Training unquestionably has a vocational value in the preparation of Cadets for a Sea Career, its end objective is character building and development of leadership qualities.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Following are additional activities. These are not syllabus subjects and the Cadets are not examined in any of them for advancement. However, these activities shall form part of extra curricular activities.


1. Camps & Sailing


2. Canoeing & Life Saving


3. Radio Communication


4. Rifle shooting / Rifle Drill


5. Rope Climbing & Band Training


6. Physical and recreational training


7. Evolutions and initiative Tasks


8. Visits to Naval / Merchant ships, Ship building yards, Nautical Museums and other Places of interest.


9. Dealing with Emergencies (Disaster Management)

10. HAM Training & Certification
